"In all seriousness though, I feel for the guy. He'd definitely had more to drink than Robin but he was competent and rarely found himself feeling the effects more than a buzz so it was to be concluded it was in fact shock that brought on his silence. Barney's eyes had widened and he struggled to form a coherent sentence, processing the information he had just heard. She wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or the fact the conversation had been diverted away from her, but she felt a little better about the fact it was nearly 1am and she was still sat in the humid Argentinian air with her ex husband. "Well he brought a blue french horn to my apartment and confessed his love to me if that's 'something'." She mimicked Barney's air quotations from earlier, teasing him a little. But if Ted didn't want to be ridiculed by his best friend he should've told Barney himself instead of leaving the space wide open for Robin to fill in the gaps. She leaned towards him, lowering her voice like she was about to spill some big secret.

His over friendliness made Robin irritated, she decided. And I'm known to be more persuasive if I'm amidst mine." He winked. Based in NYC but the boss is known to be more lenient and enthusiastic if he's amidst his holiday spirit. "If you must know, I'm meeting for a job interview tomorrow. Sat now in the large garden attached to the hotel's function room with more alcohol than Robin knew was good for her due to her busy day tomorrow, she questioned her ex-husband's coincidental whereabouts.
They had left the dance floor after a drunken round of applause and a few jealous looks from young girls in Robin's direction that made her roll her eyes. "And what on this stupid goddamn earth, brings you to South America Barney?" The tone was harsher than she intended but a voice in the back of her brain said she had no reason to be nice to the man who had caused her so much pain in the past.
